How to choose your hoodie size

How to choose your hoodie size

The most useful starting point is the size guide for the exact hoodie you want. Compare its garment measurements with a hoodie you already enjoy wearing, then choose according to the width, length and layering room you prefer.

1. Start with the product's fit description

Hoodie-Hoo Signature hoodies are designed with an oversized silhouette. A roomy cut already includes extra space, so sizing up is not automatically necessary. Size labels can vary between brands and collections; the measurements give you a more useful comparison than the letter on the label alone.

2. Measure a hoodie you already own

Lay it flat on a level surface, smooth it gently and avoid stretching the fabric. Measure chest width straight across from one underarm to the other. Measure body length from the reference point used by the product chart to the hem. For sleeves, follow the chart's method: shoulder-to-cuff and centre-back-to-cuff measurements are different.

Check whether the chart lists flat garment measurements or body measurements. A flat chest width is not a full chest circumference. Compare the same type of measurement and use the same units, usually centimetres.

3. Decide what you want to change

If you like the width and length of your current hoodie, look for comparable measurements. If you want more room, compare the wider sizes while also checking the body and sleeve lengths. If you prefer less volume, compare smaller options carefully; sizing down can also make the hoodie shorter.

4. Allow for what you wear underneath

Compare fit with your usual layering in mind. A T-shirt needs different space from a bulky layer. Double-layer construction describes the fabric arrangement, not a rule that you must order a larger size.

5. Get help when you are between sizes

Contact Hoodie-Hoo with the exact product name, your preferred fit and the measurements of the hoodie you are using as a reference. We can help you compare the available sizes. Use the current guide for adult or youth styles separately, and read the Returns Policy before ordering.
